I was searching the internet for some new solar technology and found some really neat things that are either on the market or are proposed to be.
I found a website that is in the process of creating plastic solar panels. These panels would be made with Lepcon or Lumeloid and would apparently be able to turn 70 to 80 percent of the energy recieved from the sun into electricity whereas most of todays solar panels are only 15 percent efficient. To learn more about what this new technology had to offer check out the website at: http://www.hbci.com/~wenonah/new/nsolcel.htm
Another new and exciting thing that I found was an easy way to make solar cells using 3 simple items. These include: nailpolish remover, a pizza oven and a standard inkjet printer. To find out more on making these simple solar cells check out http://cleantechnica.com/2008/10/05/new-ijet-solar-cell-is-as-easy-to-make-as-pizza/.
Lastly I found a new solar technology that is in the developement process. The Idaho National Library is creating a new thin solar film that would even work at night! To find out how this will work see their website at http://www.inhabitat.com/2008/02/04/solar-panels-work-at-night/
